 Tidewater Elite Dance Company The Tidewater Elite Dance Company is a team comprised of students from the Dance School at Tidewater Studios for the Arts. This team was founded in September 2010 by Owner/Director Jessica Jones-Healey. The Tidewater Elite Dance Company was formed to give students the opportunity to showcase their talent in dance through Community Outreach, Competitions, Talent Shows, Parades, and other Community Activities. It was also formed to provide students with opportunities to enrich their dance study through scholarship/workshop programs associated with community events. To be a member of Tidewater Elite Dance Co. you must... *There is NO TRYOUT for the TIdewater Elite Dance Company. Every student eligible for the team is put under review at the end of the School year and selections will be made by the Artisitic Director and Dance Instructors. - Classe requirements- All students selected to be apart of TED CO. must attend regular program classes for which they were selected. Ex: If a student was selected to be apart of the Jazz numbers, that student must attend a weekley Jazz class plus a Ballet co-requirement as stated in our class requirements.
- Attendance - All TED CO. members are expected to attend their weekly classes and ALL rehearsals. Missing multiple company rehearsals and program classes will not be tolerated and will result in dissmissal from the Company.
- Performances - TED CO. is invited throughout the year to perform at various festivals, shows, events, competitions, and other activities. Depending on the nature of the event not every student in TED CO. will be eligible to participate. Some events are primarily for younger aged children and vice versa. Some events may only require the Hip Hop group or one of our other company groups. Details about each individual event will be given out prior to the event date along with who is eligible.
- Fundriasing - All TED CO. members are expected to participate in every team fundraiser! There is not a class charge or fee to be in the Company or for rehearsals. Our team instructors volunteer their time for free. All of our team wear, props, activity/event fees have to come from fundraising. These fundraisers include: Car washes, yard sales, Doughnut Sales, etc. Company fundraisers and studio fundraisers are seperate.
- Behavior Expectations - All TED CO. members are expected to behave properly at all times when participating in classes, rehearsals, events, and other activities through TSA. To be in this company is a priviledge and it WILL BE TAKEN AWAY if the student does not demonstrate proper behavior. TED CO. prides itself in having not only outstanding dancers, but respectful, polite, and upstanding young citizens. Prolonged inappropriate behavior can result in dismissal from the Company.
