Jessica Jones-Healey: Owner/Artistic Director
Piano, Vocal, Musical Theatre, Hip-Hop, Modern, Mind/Body Fitness,
Jessica Jones-Healey is the Owner and Artistic Director for Tidewater Studios for the Arts Inc. There she serves as the Music School’s primary Piano and Voice Director and teaches various weekly classes in the Dance, Art, and Adult Fitness Curriculums within the studio. She is also the Lead Instructor and choreographer of the Tidewater Elite Dance Company who performs regularly in South Eastern Virginia and has won several titles including “Best Specialty Group”, and “Best Performing Arts Company”.
In 2009 Jessica completed her Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration and Music Performance with Piano as a primary where she studied under Marilyn Forman. During her college career she participated in various clubs and organizations including: The National Marketing Association and The Rose Society. In addition to studying music and business, she also studied in contemporary dance art, visual arts, Pilates, and yoga. Prior to her college career she studied piano and vocal under Tonya Menard and dance performance at several local dance schools where she was an active participator in community and national activities and competitions respectively. She is also an active pageant participant where she holds the title of Ms. Suffolk 2006 and multiple awards for Best Talent, Best Interview, and Best Overall.
Jessica is an active member of the Tidewater Music Teachers Forum, Virginia Music Teachers Association, and Music Teachers National Association. She currently sits as secretary for the TMTF Board of Directors and serves as an active judge and evaluator for local and state festivals, activities, and scholarship auditions. She is also a regular attendee of TMTF workshops where she continues to expand her education and knowledge of music.
Jessica has performed extensively throughout the Hampton roads area and U.S. east coast including performances in New York City at Ground Zero, Inaugural parades in Washington D.C, and numerous dance competitions including Hollywood Vybe, Spotlight, Jump, and Starbound where she has achieved honors and awards for: Best of Show, Best Technique, and Most Spirited Performer. She currently performs at local events throughout the area in all aspects of Music, Dance, and Art and is an active teacher for multiple dance and music workshops within her studio and other community studios in the areas of 17 century technique, effective practicing techniques, musicianship, Dance technique, and literature.
Currently, Jessica resides in Portsmouth, Virginia with her husband and is working on her National Certification Teacher of Music, and Level II Pilates/Yoga Certification.
